BIG PICTURE High School

Big Picture is focused on relationships, relevance and rigor. The educational program includes real-world learning, internships, individualized learning plans, a small-school setting with low staff-to-student ratios and a college-transition program.
CHOICE ACADEMY

CHOICE offers an extended learning experience through middle and high school years characterized by academic achievement, powerful instruction, student growth and social development. Students can participate in college level coursework, Running Start and PSSC. Our environment is safe, supportive, and focused on educating and preparing students for college and career.
Highline Virtual Academy
Serving grades 6-12 — application required
Highline Virtual Academy is an all remote school. Students who thrive in independent, online learning are good candidates. Staff build relationships and engage students in social-emotional support with students with one-on-one experiences.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Serving grades 9-12 — IB transfer request form required
IB is an internationally-recognized, college-prep program emphasizing the development of independent learners, critical thinkers, and strong writers with a global perspective. This program is located at Mount Rainier High School.
Maritime High School
Serving 9th-grade in 2021-22 — application required
Maritime High School is a new small high school opening in September 2021. The new school will connect students to project-based learning centered on the environment, marine science and maritime careers.
Raisbeck Aviation High School
Serving grades 9-12 — application required
RAHS offers a specialized, hands-on, project-based learning curriculum focused on aviation and aerospace related content. Students who are motivated to pursue a science, technology, engineering or math education and a career pathway related to aviation, aerospace and space exploration are ideal candidates.
Puget Sound Skills Center
Serving grades 11-12 — application required
PSSC offers 19 specialized programs, from aerospace to dental assisting, equipping students with hands-on skills, industry recognized credentials and dual credits. Students split their time between their home high schools and PSSC.
Innovation Heights Academy
Serving grades 10-12 — application required
Innovation Heights Academy emphasizes self-discovery, life balance, and accelerated learning towards individual goals. They operate on a half-day model with two-hour daily instruction focused on project-based and cross-curricular learning blocks and another hour dedicated to wellness. Students can earn up to nine credits in a year with our accelerated learning model.
Health Sciences Career Pathway at Tyee High School
Serving grades 9-12 — application required
In Tyee's Health Sciences Career Pathway students will gain the skills needed for high-wage medical careers, with opportunities to earn Industry Recognized Credentials and pursue college degrees in the medical field. Pathways include Nursing Assistant Pathway where students can earn a Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC), Pre-Allied Health Pathway where students can explore careers like Physical Therapist or Radiologic Technologist, and lastly the College in the High School Pathway where students can earn college credits towards a two- or four-year degree in the medical field.
